Handcrafted Mizuhiki
Mizuhiki is a traditional Japanese craft — twisted washi paper cord, shaped and knotted into intricate forms. It is said to carry the power to connect people, ward off negative energy, and bring good luck.
In our collection, we mainly celebrate the Ume-musubi, a knot inspired by the delicate plum blossom, alongside other traditional forms.
The word totoi means something precious that deserves care. We make each piece slowly and carefully by hand. No two pieces are ever the same.

Yes! We love creating custom mizuhiki pieces. Send us a DM on Instagram with your ideas, preferred colors, and occasion. Custom orders typically take 2-3 weeks.
We also offer special gift wrapping for an additional $4. Your item will be wrapped in beautiful Japanese-themed paper, tied with a mizuhiki cord, and placed in an organza pouch — ready to give as a gift. Simply select "Gift wrapping" option.
No — totoi is a small independent studio, and each piece is made individually by hand. We do not offer bulk orders or wholesale at this time.
